VETERANS & CIVILIANS TEAM UP TO SPRUCE UP EDGEWOOD’S CAMPUS IN WEBSTER GROVES

ST. LOUIS, MO (May 19, 2010)- Nearly 100 veteran and civilian volunteers gathered on May 18, 2010 to take part Tuesday in a community service project at Edgewood Children’s Center.

The Mission Continues and Target Corporation worked together to recruit volunteers and participate in the project. Volunteers pulled weeds and beautified campus grounds by staining picnic tables, raking leaves, and cleaning exterior windows.

Participants also painted children’s rooms. Edgewood Children’s Center provides compassionate care and treatment to restore children and strengthen families through intensive therapy, special education, case management and support services.

This Mission Continues project is supported by Target’s Community Giving department, which has given five percent of its income through community grants and programs. Today, that giving equals more than $3 million a week.

“It was incredible to see veterans and civilians, Target team members, and Mission Continues supporters come together today,” said Eric Greitens, CEO of The Mission Continues. “By partnering together, we can support both our veterans and our communities.”
