Rotary Club of Springfield Annual Rock’n Ribs BBQ Festival to Benefit Boys & Girls Town Kids

SPRINGFIELD, MO (April 14, 2010) – What’s delicious, mouthwatering and benefits children served by Boys & Girls Town? The Annual Rock’n Ribs BBQ Festival! Sixty teams will be participating in this Kansas City Barbeque Society sanctioned event, vying to be named the “Best BBQ” and aiming to raise money for at-risk youth in Greene County.

This will be the 8th year Boys & Girls Town has been a beneficiary of the Rotary Clubs’ Rock’n Ribs BBQ Festival, and the event has donated upwards of $120,000 to the agency since 2003.

Last year, Rock'n Ribs BBQ Festival distributed $130,000 for programs, services, special projects or scholarships for disadvantaged, underprivileged and at-risk "Children of the Ozarks."

The barbeque sampling portion of the event kicks off at 1:15 p.m., with live music all day long, a kids play zone, and even a motorcycle show. For more information, please visit www.rocknribs.com.

Thank you to the Rotary Clubs of Springfield, Missouri for helping needy children.
